[THE ROLE]

What this work looks like

You'll design and operate the data platforms our clients and ventures actually run on, not slide-deck architectures. At Vantir, data engineering means pipelines, lakehouses, and warehouses that stay trustworthy under real load, so product, ML, and business teams can move without second-guessing the data.

We work across GCP, AWS, and Azure depending on the engagement. You'll sit with consultants, founders, and client teams, make the trade-offs in the room, and ship systems they can operate after we leave.

What you'll do

Design and build batch and streaming pipelines that are observable, reliable, and safe to re-run.
Shape lakehouse and warehouse models that serve analytics, ML, and product use cases without becoming a second source of truth.
Own orchestration, testing, and data quality so failures surface before they become someone else's incident.
Partner with client data and engineering teams to modernize platforms, retire brittle jobs, and transfer ownership.
Contribute to technical due diligence when data architecture, lineage, or platform risk is on the table.

What we're looking for

Several years building production data platforms in the cloud (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
Fluency with transformation and processing at the level of dbt, Spark, or equivalent, and the judgment to pick the right one.
Experience with orchestration (Airflow-class) and treating pipelines as software: tests, CI, contracts, and monitoring.
Comfort modeling data for both analytics and downstream ML, not just landing tables in a warehouse.
You communicate clearly with engineers and non-engineers, and you take ownership of outcomes.
Fluent with modern AI tooling as part of how you design, build, and operate data platforms.

Nice to have

Real-time and streaming platforms (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis, or similar).
Iceberg, Delta, Snowflake, or BigQuery in production.
Infrastructure as Code and platform work alongside data.
Consulting or other client-facing delivery experience.
